About this event
This Thursday 15th October, at 1:00 PM, Polaron is holding a live chat with Daniel Ajak, director and principal lawyer at Ajak & Tut Lawyers, and expert in community legal advice.
Daniel resettled in Australia as teenager through the Australian government’s humanitarian refugee program. In 2015, he graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance). Daniel was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia that same year and is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia. In 2017, after seeing regular media coverage on African youth crime in Melbourne, he felt called to move to Victoria to be a role model for the younger people in his South Sudanese community.
Before co-founding Ajak & Tut Lawyers, Daniel worked at Victoria Legal Aid both in the Summary Crime and Youth Crime team where he regularly appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, Children’s Court and the Bail & Remand Court (Night Court).
