Having completed his Degree at Monash University, and fresh out of his practicum Davide Uglietta joins Polaron in the capacity of Translation Project Coordinator. An avid traveller, Davide speaks Italian, Tok Pisin, Urdu and Somali.

NEW TRANSLATION PROJECT COORDINATOR APPOINTMENT
We kindly welcome to the Polaron team Nadine Alig who has been appointed as Polaron's new Translation Projects Coordinator. Nadine initially started at Polaron as an intern, with experience in translation and project management in Switzerland. Nadine can speak 5 languages including English, German, Italian, Spanish and French. We trust that Nadine will be a welcome addition to Polaron and will be able to assist our clients in meeting their goals.

INTERNSHIP APPOINTMENT

Bindy Luo has commenced her 3 month internship appointment at Polaron. Bindy is a Chinese translator and has been in Australia for 2 years. Bindy has recently completed her studies at AITI in Translation and is keen to move into the industry. Bindy is an excellent addition to the Polaron team and her experience and enthusiasm is of great benefit to Polaron.

SOLVING YOUR TRANSLATION PUZZLE SEMINAR - SYDNEY
Over 20 service providers, community organisations and purchasers of translation and interpreting services attended our first ever translation seminar in Sydney. Challenges of translation, including fonts, layouts, languages and checking of translations generated lots of questions and a robust discussion.

INTERNSHIP APPOINTMENT
Simon Jolibois arrives at Polaron to take on a 4 month translating and interpreting internship. Simon does intend to combine his work experience with travel around Australia, including Cairns and other parts of Queensland in the latter part of 2009.

POLISH YOUR POLISH
Our first Polish lesson was conducted today at the After the Tears restaurant in Elsternwick. This weekly event is aimed at people with different levels of the Polish language skills and is an opportunity to enjoy Polish food, conversation and great company.

SISKA AND EVA ARRIVE AT POLARON
Two new interns, Siska Reeves and Eva Mustika arrived at Polaron today, all the way from Indonesia. They have completed their university degrees in Australia and will work at our Clayton office for the next 10 weeks, Eva in Accounts and Siska in Marketing. Best of luck, ladies!

GOOD BYE, STEFANIE!
After 3 fantastic months, Stephanie our German intern has said goodbye to us today. Stephanie is planning to travel through Australia at the completion of her internship. While with Polaron, Stephanie assisted in the co-ordination of translation and research projects. From everyone at Polaron, we wish Stephanie all the best on her return home. She has impressed us so much that we have already offered Stefanie a part-time research positon!

POLARON EU SEMINAR
Polaron would like to thank everyone who attended the Polaron's seminar on the 17th of November. With over 50 attendees, it was a resounding success! Not only did we hear an interesting presentation by Dr Sebastian Oraniec on property acquisition and restitution in Poland and our own Magdalena Furina on EU passports, we got to sample some delicious Eastern European food prepared by, our own Polaron Chef, Alexander Nitecki.
