Multimedia Projects Officer
A graduate of Monash University's Bachelor of Communications (Advertising & Marketing), Theo is our Multimedia Projects Officer. Prior to joining Polaron, Theo has worked for a number of signage and graphic design companies. His creative flare and marketing background have provided fresh ideas for our clients. Theo works with a variety of software packages, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Macromedia Flash and Fireworks. Outside of work, Theo is a keen angler and tennis player. Theo's role involves liaising with our clients, as well as translators. Often, he will have several projects on the boil, with competing priorities and deadlines. He is well known for always staying calm and collected, and meeting even the tightest of deadlines. The best thing about Theo, however, is his friendly and helpful attitude, always aiming to problem solve, no matter what translators or clients throw at him.
"My job is to coordinate the production of translations in various languages. This involves liaising with clients, translators, checkers, editors and printers. Some projects have as many as 80 team members working on it so ensuring that all the t's are crossed and all the i's are dotted is always the biggest challenge. The end of each project is like winning a marathon: exciting and very rewarding! Over the last several months I have worked with translators from all kinds of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Some of the rarer languages such as Burmese or Amharic pose enormous challenges when it comes to design of brochures. These are the most time consuming projects but they also give me the most satisfaction when they are finished and put to bed." |
