What is translation?
Translation is the act of transferring the meaning of a written text from one language to another.
 
What are the advantages of having my documents translated professionally?
If your documents are to be lodged with a government authority, you will be required to have it translated by a professional translator who is NAATI accredited. However, even if your documents don't need to be certified, using a professional translator to translate your website, brochures, user manuals or legal contracts will have the advantage of being accurate, professionally researched and presented and being targeted to your readers' needs.
 
How long does it take to translate a document?
That depends on the language, volume of text, subject matter and the type of service required.

 

How much does it cost?
Again, this depends on the language, size of the document, complexity of the text and the type of service required. Polaron's prices start at $25 per 100 words.

Are my documents secure?

Can you translate the text into several languages?
Yes, we can handle multilingual translation projects in any language combination.

What happens if I am not happy with your work?
All our translations are backed by our 100% Quality Guarantee. Weare confidentthat our translations willmeet or exceed your expectations. However, if for any reason you are not totally satisfied, we will revise the translation and adapt it to your needs free of charge. If, after the revision, for whatever reason at all, you still feel the translation is not up to standard, we will either pay for another translator to re-do the work or give you a full refund - its your choice.

 

How can I get my documents to you?
We accept a variety of formats: email, fax or post. You are also welcome to drop off your documents at one of our offices in person.

 

Will I find a cheaper service elsewhere?
The translation business is like any other - you get what you pay for.
 
So how do I pay?
We offer a variety of payment methods, including cash, credit card and bank transfer.
 
What information do you need to quote?

Because we quote fixed prices, we need to know a bit of detail before we can quote. How long is the text? What type of text is it? Is it technical, legal or marketing? What languages do you want to translate from and into? How is your translation going to be used? Will it be printed, or displayed on line?

Do I have to pay for a quote?
No. Our quotes are provided free of charge.
 
What information do you need to start the job?
You need to tell us what your deadline is, whether there are any variations from the original quote and who in your company we should liaise with in case of any questions.
 
Do we need to meet in person?
No. Whilst you are always welcome to visit us to see translators in action, most of our tasks can be performed via emails or phone. We work with many interstate and international clients, from as far as UK, US, South Africa, Brazil and Israel.
 
Is my project too big or too small?
Probably not. Whether it's a one-line ad or a 200 page user manual, we're happy to help.
 
How quickly can you deliver?
Turnaround times depend on the source text volumes and complexity, as well as our translators' availability. We do cater for urgent deadlines. Please contact us to discuss your requirement.
 
What is localisation?
It's an adaptation of a product, software or text to a target market, language and culture.
 
What translation companies should I be wary of?
Spelling and grammatical errors on their website should be your first warning sign. Lack of response to your emails, regularly getting an answering machine when trying to contact their office and lack of explanation when asking about quality control could be another. Whilst you may not be able to tell how good the quality of the translation is, you should expect at least a basic level of customer service when dealing with a translation company.
