Case Study

International Law Firm Blake Dawson contacted Polaron Language Services to assess and translate over 20 technical documents from Japanese into English. These documents were required urgently for a commercial litigation dispute between a Manufacturer in Melbourne and an importer/distributer in Tokyo, Japan.

Polaron engaged a consultant to meet with Blake Dawson to discuss various specifications the firm had, prior to the beginning of the project. This included finding the most efficient way to coordinate the translations based on the firm's priority requirements. Blake Dawson required several documents to be translated as a matter of urgency. Polaron were able to have these documents translated, put through stringent quality assurance procedures and then delivered back to Blake Dawson within 3 days, with the remainder of the documents delivered within a one week time frame.

The documents to be translated consisted of highly technical mechanical blueprints, diagrams of machinery used at the Melbourne plant, invoices and various other financial documents as well as emails and hand written letters exchanged between the two companies. The highly technical nature of these documents required translators with exceptional skill in not only the Japanese and English languages, but also a sound knowledge of both the manufacturing industry and the legal industry.

Due to the urgency of this translation project, Polaron engaged 6 professional translators to ensure that not only was the project completed in the agreed time frame but to also guarantee that the quality of the translations was not compromised by the urgency of the project.

Blake Dawson required that the 6 translators working on the project were able to, if required, attend court sessions to verify their translations and clarify any key points. Polaron ensured that everyone working on the project was happy to agree to these requirements and Blake Dawson was assured that this was not an uncommon practice in the language industry and that the translators working on the project had been through these procedures before.

With a list of over 20 highly technical documents to be completed as soon as possible Polaron were able to finalise the project in just one week's time, with the most urgent translations completed in just a few days. Every translation done for this project went through Polaron's strict quality assurance procedures which ensured that not only were Blake Dawson receiving the translations within the agreed time frame but that they were also receiving translations of the highest quality.

Blake Dawson was very happy with the way Polaron coordinated and completed the project and continues to use Polaron Language Services today.
